Getting started, connecting devices, reading the numbers, and fixing common problems.

First ten minutes

Getting Started

  • Create your account through your invite link, then verify your email.
  • Connect a service from Settings: Strava, Garmin, Wahoo, Polar or Hammerhead. One is enough; Allure removes duplicates if the same session arrives from two sources.
  • Let the first sync run. A large history can take a few minutes. Your recent activities appear first, and analysis for each session is built the first time you open it.
  • Set your thresholds in Settings if you know them. If you do not, train normally: Allure estimates FTP and threshold pace from your own efforts and offers them to you when the model is confident.

The dashboard's fitness, fatigue and form numbers need history to mean anything. With a synced back catalogue they are meaningful immediately; starting from zero, give them two to three weeks of training.

Devices and platforms

Connecting Your Services

All connections live in Settings. Each provider shows its sync status there, and every connection can be disconnected or revoked at any time.

  • Garmin brings activities plus wellness: HRV, resting heart rate, sleep. These power the recovery baselines on the dashboard.
  • Strava brings your activity library, including history from before you owned your current device.
  • Wahoo, Polar and Hammerhead connect directly and push new sessions automatically shortly after you finish them.
  • Any device at all: upload the FIT file directly and Allure treats it identically to a synced session.

Connecting two sources that carry the same sessions is safe. Allure recognizes the same activity arriving twice and keeps one.

Understanding Your Numbers

Every metric Allure shows is explained in depth, with the research it stands on, at Training Science. The short version of the three you will look at most:

  • Fitness builds and fades over weeks. It is your accumulated training, not how you feel today.
  • Fatigue is the recent strain, and it clears in days.
  • Form is the difference. Negative while you build, rising when you absorb, and the number to watch into a race.

On the dashboard's Fitness & Form chart, hover any day for its numbers and sessions, click a training day to open it, and switch the range from six weeks up to a year.

The activity page

Reading a Session

  • The chart shows every recorded stream in stacked lanes. Hover to scrub with every metric read out at the cursor, scroll to zoom, drag to select a range, double-click to reset, and use the Data fields menu to choose lanes.
  • The metric grid is yours to arrange: Customize lets you add, remove and reorder tiles, including running dynamics like ground contact time when your device records them.
  • The Best Curve draws today's best efforts over your all-time bests, so the gap between the lines is the reading.
  • Insights under the session state what the data supports and show the evidence they were computed from. A quiet session page is deliberate: no invented intervals, no horoscope.

Planning

Workouts and the Calendar

The workout builder creates structured sessions with targets drawn from your own zones, either from scratch or from templates aimed at your named limiter. Planned sessions land on your calendar, count toward projected form, and send to Hammerhead devices today, with more targets in progress. After a planned session syncs in, Allure pairs it with the plan so you can see planned against ridden.

When something looks wrong

Troubleshooting

I connected a service and nothing appeared

Large histories take a few minutes. If it stays empty, disconnect the service in Settings and reconnect in a private browser window, which forces the provider to give you a fresh login rather than silently reusing a stale session. That stale-session case is the most common cause of an empty connection.

An activity is missing

If it exists on the provider, open Settings and use the service's sync action. If the same ride came in from another connected source, it is not missing: Allure kept one copy.

Running dynamics tiles show a dash

Your device did not record them for that run. Wrist-based dynamics need a recent watch; otherwise they come from an HRM strap or pod. Older activities pick dynamics up when their analysis rebuilds on next open.

A number looks wrong

Open Training Science to see exactly how it is computed, and check the thresholds it hangs off in Settings. If it still looks wrong, tell us: we treat a wrong number as a bug of the most serious kind.

Deleting data

Settings offers full export, deletion of all training data with the account kept, and full account deletion. Deletions are immediate and permanent.
